Arkansas Faces LSU in College World Series Opener

Arkansas and LSU are set to clash in the opening round of the College World Series on Saturday (June 14) at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN. This marks the 12th appearance for the Razorbacks in the College World Series, while LSU makes its 20th trip.

Arkansas enters the tournament with a record of 48-13, having swept Tennessee in the Fayetteville Super Regional. The Razorbacks secured their spot by defeating North Dakota State and Creighton in the regional round. LSU, with a 48-15 record, advanced after a challenging regional round in Baton Rouge, where they defeated Little Rock in a decisive game before sweeping West Virginia in the Super Regional.

The two teams previously faced off in May during Southeastern Conference play, with LSU winning two out of three games. The Tigers took the first two games 5-4 and 13-3, while Arkansas claimed a 7-4 victory in the final game.

The winner of the Arkansas-LSU matchup will play again on Monday (June 16) at 6 p.m., while the losing team will face an elimination game at 1 p.m. the same day. Both teams aim to progress through the double-elimination tournament, with the ultimate goal of reaching the College World Series Finals.
