Manhunt For Grant Hardin Enters Second Week

The search for Grant Hardin, a former Arkansas police chief known as the "Devil in the Ozarks," has entered its second week. Hardin, who was serving time for murder and rape, escaped from Calico Rock prison on May 25 by disguising himself as a law enforcement officer. The FBI is now offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to his arrest, an increase from the previous $10,000 reward. The U.S. Marshals Service is also offering an additional $5,000 reward.

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office has urged residents in the Calico Rock and Pineville areas to review footage from game cameras and surveillance systems for any signs of Hardin or suspicious vehicles since his escape. The manhunt spans the rugged terrain of the Ozarks, which includes forests, waterways, and caves, making the search challenging. Authorities have employed bloodhounds, drones, and horses in their efforts to locate the fugitive, who is considered armed and dangerous.
