The Republican Party of New Mexico's headquarters in Albuquerque was damaged in a suspected arson attack early Sunday (March 30). Firefighters quickly responded to the blaze, which damaged the entryway and caused smoke damage throughout the building. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The words "ICE=KKK" were spray-painted on the building, and law enforcement is investigating the incident as a deliberate act of arson. The fire is being investigated by the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and local authorities. According to CNN, incendiary materials were found at the scene, though details have not been disclosed.

The Republican Party of New Mexico described the attack as "a direct assault on our values, freedoms, and our right to political expression." Chairwoman Amy Barela expressed relief that no one was harmed and emphasized the need for accountability for those responsible. Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller condemned the act, stating, "Arson is a violent and cowardly act that has no place in our city."

This incident marks the third time since 2017 that the New Mexico GOP offices have been targeted. The Democratic Party of New Mexico also condemned the attack, with spokesperson Daniel Garcia stating, "We condemn any vandalism at the Republican Party of New Mexico headquarters as strongly as possible." The investigation is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
