Tennessee Congressman Andy Ogles has filed articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris, citing her handling of immigration and allegations of covering up President Joe Biden's health status. The articles were filed on Tuesday (July 23), as Harris begins her presidential campaign following President Biden's decision not to seek re-election.

The impeachment articles expand on previous ones that targeted Harris's record on immigration, a key issue for Republicans. The new filing adds a second article, accusing Harris of concealing President Biden's mental well-being, which Ogles claims constitutes a "breach of public trust."

"Kamala Devi Harris has knowingly misled the people of the United States and the Congress of the United States, principally to obfuscate the physical and cognitive well-being of the President of the United States, Joe Biden," the filing reads.

The initial articles, filed on June 12, 2023, accuse Harris of demonstrating "extraordinary incompetence" in executing her duties, refusing to uphold immigration laws, and showing indifference to the suffering of Americans due to the ongoing southern border crisis. The filing also lists crimes allegedly committed by immigrants in the U.S. illegally, including the death of student Laken Riley and recent border crossing statistics.

This is not the first time Ogles has introduced impeachment articles against Harris. He also introduced them in 2023 during the first session of the 118th Congress.
