Southwest Boeing 737 Max Makes Emergency Landing In Orlando

U.S. Grounds All Boeing 737 MAX 8 Aircraft After Viewing New Satellite Data

A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 Max jet was forced to make an emergency landing at Orlando International Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration says that the plane turned around after experiencing engine trouble not long after takeoff. The agency says that the issue is not related to the problems that investigators believe caused two of the brand new planes to crash in the past six months, killing 346 people.

The FAA grounded all Boeing Max jets following the second deadly crash. Due to the grounding order, six Max jets were stuck at the airport in Orlando.

Southwest was flying the plane to a storage facility in Victorville, California where it would be held until the grounding order is lifted. There were no passengers on board the aircraft, and the crew consisted of just the pilot and co-pilot.
