Governor Sarah Sanders is announcing $48 million in training grants will be awarded to 19 Arkansas organizations. The funding through the Higher Industry Readiness through Educational Development program will help provide companies with skilled and qualified employees within their businesses. Secretary of Commerce Hugh McDonald stated the grants, "will have a major impact on preparing the next generation of Arkansans for the workforce." Grant recipients include the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, the Little Rock Regional Chamber and the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education.
